VCU men’s basketball is back in the national spotlight. The Rams have surged into the USA Today/Coaches Top 25 Poll, landing at No. 25 after an impressive stretch of wins. This marks their first appearance in the rankings since November 2019, when they were ranked 19th.

Riding an eight-game winning streak and having won 14 of their last 15, VCU (24-5, 14-2 Atlantic 10) has been one of the hottest teams in college basketball. The Rams have been dominant on their home floor, boasting a perfect record at the Siegel Center this season. Their defensive intensity and balanced scoring have fueled their rise, making them a dangerous team as the postseason approaches.

VCU secured 54 points in the latest coaches poll, placing them just behind No. 24 Kentucky (88 points) and No. 23 Arizona (91 points). They are also on the brink of breaking into the Associated Press Top 25, coming in at 26th with 85 points—just two shy of No. 25 Mississippi State.

With momentum on their side, the Rams will look to extend their winning streak when they travel to Pittsburgh to face Duquesne on Tuesday, March 5. That game will be televised on CBS Sports at 7pm ET. VCU will return home on Friday to face Dayton to close out the regular season.
