VCU drops hard fought battle against #6 Baylor, 69-61

VCU took defending national champions #6 Baylor to the wire in a hard fought battle to advance to the Bad Boy Mowers Championship game, but the Bears were simply too much for the Rams to handle, handing VCU its third loss of the season (Baylor 69, VCU 61).

Senior Vince Williams led the Rams in scoring with 17 points and 5 assists, 12 of those points came in the 2nd half to keep VCU afloat. Senior Levi Stockard III had his 2nd straight double-digit game with 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals.

Baylor dominated VCU on the glass with 41 rebounds, 17 of those offensive rebounds which helped Baylor claim a 15-3 margin in 2nd chance points.

VCU will move on to face #22 UConn on Friday, November 26 at 1:30pm on ESPN2. The winner of this matchup will claim 3rd place in the Battle for Atlantis.
