VCU (3-3) led by two points at halftime, but in the end UCONN outscored the Rams 14-7 in overtime to take third place in the Battle 4 Atlantis field. The Rams finished fourth place overall in the early season tournament with the 70-63 loss.
Freshman, Jayden Nunn, set a new career-high with 21 points on 6-14 shooting (43%).
Nunn was the only Ram to score in double digits on the day.
Vince Williams end with 9 points, while Levi Stockard III chipped in 8 points.
The Rams were out rebounded 52-35 by the Huskies who scored 17 second-chance points.
Nunn also led the Rams with both 8 rebounds and his 4 steals.
The Huskies turned the ball over 22 times that lead to 10 points for the Rams.
And, while the Rams took care of the ball better than they have all season with only 14 turnovers, the Huskies were able to translate that to 18 points for their offense.
VCU was only able to connect on 5-21 shots from range (24%), they did outscore the Huskies in the paint, 34-24.
UCONN separated themselves from the Rams on the free throw line. The Huskies shot 82% while connecting on 23-28 of their attempts.
VCU, however, was only able to net 54% of their 24 attempts.
The Rams will return to action on Saturday, December 4th as the welcome Fighting Camels of Campbell into Richmond. That game is set to tip at 7pm EST.
