The Rams used a surge of long range shooting to improve to 5-5 on the season as VCU handily sent the Braves home with a 86-58 drubbing.

In a game that the Rams never trailed, VCU shot an impressive 48% from the field overall, including connections on 17 of their 39 three-point attempts for 44%.

Kuany Kuany hit his first three-pointer of the night—and year—at the 8:34 mark of the first half giving the Rams a 14 point advantage over the visiting Braves of Alcorn State.

He would end the night with a season-high 15 points on 5-7 shooting from the floor—connecting on 4-6 of his three point attempts. He also grabbed five rebounds in his breakout performance.

The Braves used an 11-0 run in the first half to get back to a three point deficit, but would not be able to get any closer.

A whopping 27-4 run by the Rams over an eight minute stretch in the second half proved to be too much for the Braves to contend with.

The run started with an explosive dunk from Tobi Lawal, and was capped by a dunk and a free throw from Kuany.

Lawal would end the night with a perfect 4-4 shooting to grab himself the 10 point and 10 rebound double-double.

VCU used a 39-30 advantage on the boards to limit Alcorn State's ability to get second chance attempts.

Zeb Jackson posted game-high totals with both 18 points and his 7 assists.

The Rams wracked up 22 assists total on their 29 made field goals.

Jason Nelson (14) , Max Shulga (13), and Fats Billups (10) all continued their aggressive play of late and once again netted themselves double-digit scoring nights.

Alcorn State struggled to get their offense going against the hustle of VCU's defense.

The Braves turned the ball over just 11 times, but the Rams capitalized by turning those mistakes into 17 points.

The Rams will return to action on Saturday, December 16th as the take on former A10 member the Temple Owls. That game is set to tip at 2pm EST and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
