VCU lands 2017 4-star forward Sean Mobley

Fresh off the commitment of two pieces to VCU's 2017 recruiting class, Will Wade and his staff have added another, this time with the announcement of 6'9 4-star forward, Sean Mobley.

Mobley visited the Rams this weekend and wasted no time in making his college decision after his stay, telling HoopSeen.com, "I like the school a lot. I love Coach (Will) Wade and the rest of the staff. They’re making moves in the right direction.”

That direction no doubt continues to be the upward trajectory VCU has been on since Will Wade first joined Shaka Smart as an assistant in 2010, then later taking over as head coach this past season. Wade has continued to elevate the recruiting level at VCU, adding a second ESPN 4-star recruit to the 2017 class, joining top-100 commit Lavar Batts as well as 3-star big, Marcus Santos-Silva.

VCU is scheduled to lose serious interior production following the upcoming season with the graduations of Mo Alie-Cox, Jordan Burgess and possibly Ahmed Hamdy-Mohamed as well, baring a decision by the NCAA to grant him an extra year of eligibility.

The addition of Mobley gives VCU a 6'9 225 skilled big man who can and has played positions from the shooting guard to power forward, and quite possibly the five at times if needed at VCU as well in the Rams' uptempo system.

Mobley is considered a "glue guy" with a well-rounded set of skills including not only an ability to grab rebounds at 6'9 but hit open threes and find other open shooters as well with great court vision.

The Florida native and Montverde product chose VCU over the likes of West Virginia, NC State, Wake Forest and A-10 rival Dayton.
