VCU head coach Ryan Odom has landed the commitment of german hooper Jacob Patrick, a 6'6 guard who recently played with Ludwigsburg in the BBL (1st tier of pro basketball in Germany). Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress confirmed his commitment on Monday.
Jacob averaged 5.9 points, shooting 52% overall and 40% from deep while playing among former and future NBA players in Germany's top basketball league at just 19 years old. He is described as a two-way player who can make plays on both sides of the ball, but his ability to shoot the ball will be instrumental for the Rams. VCU fans will love him at the free throw line, where his average is 95.7%.
Jacob's father is John Patrick, a long-time player and coach overseas, mostly in Japan and Germany, where he coached Jacob before taking another coaching job in Japan.
