At 6-8, 175 lbs, Tarique is a versatile forward who can fit into multiple positions for the Rams.He most recently played AAU hoops with Wiz Kids on the Adidias 3SSB circuit.

Foster's basketball trajectory was briefly put on hold in July 2021 when <a href="https://bronx.news12.com/athlete-gets-a-second-chance-at-life-after-traumatizing-event-bronx-da-tackles-gun-violence-across-the-city">he was shot</a> in the right calf outside of a graduation party in the Bronx. He was one of 5 victims who were shot that night.

Foster is VCU's first commitment for the 2023-2024 season. He took a visit to VCU earlier this month, and made the commitment to VCU over offers from several other schools including Atlantic 10 foe St. Bonaventure.
