The Rams also controlled the boards with a 42-38 rebounding edge, including nine offensive rebounds.

Phillip Russell added 16 points on 7-10 shooting, while Max Shulga contributed 14 points, nine rebounds (four offensive), and three assists. For Saint Joseph's, Xzayvier Brown had an incredible game with 22 points and seven rebounds, including three three-pointers. That is, until he fouled out with around 2 minutes remaining in the game. Rasheer Fleming posted a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds, while Erik Reynolds II scored 12 points but struggled with efficiency, shooting 5-15 from the field. Despite their rebounding efforts and six turnovers compared to VCU’s nine, the Hawks’ poor shooting ultimately cost them the game.
