VCU kicked off their 2015 class with a bang, landing local top-100 shooting guard, Kenny Williams (ESPN No.79), this past August over offers from the likes of UNC, Georgetown and Indiana. The Rams aim to finish that class just as strong as they started and we could know the full makeup of that group in the very near future.
Mack & McDuffie finish visits
Two players VCU has been very involved with for some time are Tevin Mack (ESPN No.58) and Markis McDuffie (ESPN No.92). Mack (6'7, 200), a big time scorer and lethal shooter out of Columbia, SC wrapped up his five official visits recently --Georgia, VCU, Clemson, UConn and South Carolina, in that order -- and has hinted he may pop for one of those lucky suiters in the very near future (as early as this week). The Rams have been involved with Mack for over a year and love the gunners ability to fill up the stat sheet. A Mack commitment would give VCU their third highest commitment in the history of the program, just behind 1990 McDonald's All-American (and VCU legend) Kendrick Warren and 2014 commit Terry Larrier (ESPN No.43). McDuffie (6'8 175) received a VCU offer this past June and has continued his rise into ESPN's top-100, receiving offers from numerous high major teams but ultimately narrowing his list down to VCU, SMU, Wichita State and Boston College where he visited this past weekend. The Rams love McDuffie's high motor and "huge upside" and would add the St. Anthony standout to a future VCU roster that is growing increasingly large and more versatile. Head coach and high school legend, Bob Hurley Sr., raved out his leading scorer guessing he would eventually level off at around 6'9 by the time he finished growing. McDuffie will finish his official visits next weekend at SMU and could decide shortly after.
VCU or Prep School for Holman? 
Aric Holman has emerged as VCU's clear top "big man" target for their 2015 class. The 6'9 200-lb F/C visited VCU nearly a month ago but has shown no signs of popping for the Rams or any team anytime soon. While Holman would be a much celebrated addition to VCU's 2015 class, 247Sports.com has reported the Owensboro, Kentucky native may opt for a year of prep school prior making a D1 selection, hoping for a Louisville offer in the future. 247Sports.com has VCU and Louisville tied at 40% in the crystal ball predictions.

If it seems like versatile 6'7 ballers have become a priority for VCU you've noticed the same thing I have. Head Coach Shaka Smart recently evaluated another one of those, taking in some of San Antonio native Jordan Murphy's game this past week. Murphy (6'7 215) holds offers from the likes of Maryland, Memphis and Texas A&M to name a few but could certainly be a name to watch for VCU fans.
