VCU has landed another huge piece for their 2019 class, this time in the form of 6'3 top-100 guard, Nah'Shon "Bones" Hyland.

The versatile Delaware native announced Tuesday that he would join a 2019 VCU class consisting of Jarren McAllister, Tre Clark, Hason Ward and preferred walk-on, Arnold Henderson.

The Rams had made his top 7 cut list last September while he was gathering interest from high major programs like UConn, Maryland, and Michigan. Hyland narrowed his list to UConn and VCU before ultimately choosing the Rams.

His commitment comes at the very last minute for the recruiting period, as 2019-2020 freshmen will begin to arrive on campus in a matter of weeks.

Hyland is ranked 60th in the Class of 2019 nationally by 24/7 Sports, and is a general consensus Top-100 player.

His story is one of survival and persistence, quite literally. In early 2018, Nah'Shon jumped from his 2nd floor bedroom window to escape a fire which took the life of both his 11-month other brother and his grandmother. He sustained injuries to his patellar tendon and other ligaments, which left him to rehabilitation through his summer.

He returned to his senior season where he average 26.1 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 4.6 apg, and 3.4 steals/game. He also shot 53% from 2, and 35% from 3.
