VCU (1-2) scored their first Atlantic 10 victory tonight against the George Mason Patriots (2-1) on the road in Fairfax, with a final score of 54-50. The game was a rock fight from start to finish.

Max Shulga led the Rams in scoring with 13 points, 7 rebounds. Zeb Jackson scored 8 points, including a crucial 3 pointer to tie the game at 50 with 1:36 left. Max Shulga would close the game out with 4 free throws through a rocky final stretch.

This is a significant win for the Rams as they look to build momentum following a cold opening to the conference season marked by two consecutive home losses to St. Bonaventure and George Washington.

VCU’s next game is scheduled for Saturday, January 13, 2024, in Philadelphia against the La Salle Explorers at 12:30 PM. The game will televised on USA and streaming on ESPN+.
