The Maui Invitational officially dropped this morning and the Rams have learned their path in the Chaminade-hosted tournament in Mauii, HI. VCU will open the tournament against the Marquette Golden Eagles of the Big East conference at 2:30PM EST on Nov 20 on ESPN2 and are set to take on either California or Wichita State in the second round. All three played in post-season tournaments this past season with only Cal, a kenpom top-70 team, failing to make the NCAA tournament.
One intriguing possibility for the black and gold is a potential matchup against former head coach Will Wade who's new LSU Tigers team resides on the opposite side of the bracket.
