VCU will battle NIT Champion Seton Hall on Nov. 21 to kick-off the Shriners Children's Hospital Charleston Classic in Charleston, S.C., ESPN revealed Thursday with the release of the full tournament bracket.
The Rams and Pirates will tip-off at 5 p.m. on ESPN2 at Charleston's TD Arena. VCU will face Vanderbilt or Nevada on Friday, Nov. 22, and the Rams will conclude the tournament on Sunday, Nov. 24 against one of a group of potential opponents that includes FAU, Oklahoma State, Miami and Drake.
Every Charleston Classic game will be broadcast on an ESPN platform.
VCU and Seton Hall have met twice previously, including at the 2011 Charleston Classic. The Pirates have won both previous contests.
Seton Hall, led by third-year Head Coach Shaheen Holloway, is coming off a 25-12 campaign in 2023-24 that concluded with an NIT Championship.
The Rams return three starters from last year's 24-14 squad that reached the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship Game and the NIT Quarterfinals, including First Team All-Conference guard Max Shulga.
All-tournament tickets for the Shriners Children's Charleston Classic will go on sale in early September. Fans can sign up for a ticket pre-sale at www.charlestonclassic.com or by clicking HERE to gain first access to premium seats and secure the lowest rates. Single-session tickets will go on sale in October, pending availability. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance as Premium Lower Sideline tickets have sold out before October the past three years.
