We sat down with VCU sophomore big man Hason Ward to talk about his journey to VCU. From Barbardos, Hason was discovered by his high school coach Darryl Denson while walking down the street on a visit to Springfield, Massachusetts. From that moment forward, he has been chasing the dream of playing basketball professionally.
Hason played in 24 games last season coming off the bench where he average 3.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 7.1 minutes per game. A very efficient post player, he shot 63% overall from the floor. He will see a significant increase in playing time next season with the early departure of Marcus Santos-Silva (<a href="https://www.vcuramnation.com/2020/04/marcus-santos-silva-announces-departure-from-vcu/">transferred out</a>).
We talk about his growth, summer practice, and some of his favorites on this year's team.
