VCU gutted out a rock fight win last night, managing a six-point escape over a one-loss Middle Tennessee State team despite shooting just 31.7% from the field.
While we weren't able to travel to Murfreesboro last night to film the contest ourselves, we did find this video of MTSU  head coach Kermit Davis praising the Rams after the win.
Davis called VCU "tougher than a really tough team" and said the black and gold could be a "Sweet 16 team", mentioning how proud he was of his own team for hanging with the Rams in the Blue Raiders loss.
The Rams are the marquee game on MTSU's home schedule this season, drawing 8,882 fans in the 11,520-seat arena last night, more than twice 4,037 the Blue Raiders averaged at home last season.
VCU has routinely drawn season-high crowds in opposing teams venues thanks to the Rams' recent success and last night's win was just the first of many hostile road atmosphere's VCU is sure to face this season.
