Video: Rams fly past Falcons; beat Bowling Green 72-61 [INSIDER]

After getting their 2nd win of the season on Friday, VCU was back at it Monday evening. This time, the Rams welcomed Bowling Green State University as part of the of the Legends Classic, presented by Old Trapper. Today, the outcome would be no different, the Rams won, 72-61.

Junior Marcus Evans and Freshman Vince Williams both led VCU is scoring with 12 points each. Evans hit 3 of 7. Williams went 3-5 with 3 rebounds.

In their first ever meeting, VCU’s defense suffocated Bowling Green. The Falcons turned the ball over 27 times to the Rams’ 15.

Both teams had similar nights shooting. The Black and Gold shot 36% on the night, connecting on 21 of 58 from the field. Bowling Green were limited to 35% shooting on the night.

The win moves VCU to 3-0 on the season. The win also marks VCU’s 120th consecutive sellout, dating back to the 2010-2011 season.

VCU will play next against Temple University on Monday, November 20th in Brooklyn as part of the Legend’s Classic. The game will air on ESPN3 at 9:30pm.
