After opening conference play with a convincing win against Fordham on Saturday, VCU welcomed La Salle to Siegel Center Wednesday evening. After a very slow start, the rams were able to chip away and battle back to get the 69-63 win.

La Salle jumped out to an early lead. The explorers largest lead was 18 points. VCU did not get the lead until 8:58 left in the second half.

The rams had 4 players score in double digits. Junior Issac Vann scored 12, junior Marcus Evans scored 10 points while sophomore Marcus Santos-Silva chipped in 13. Junior De’Riante Jenkins led them all with 15 points.

Evans and Santos-Silva grabbed 8 and 6 rebounds, respectively.

VCU shot 38% on the night connecting on 20 of 53 from the field. The rams hit 5 of 17 shots from behind the arc.

Unfortunately, the rams turned the ball over 18 times. On the bright side, La Salle turned it over 20 times.

The win moves VCU to 11-4 on the season. VCU will travel to Davidson on Saturday, January 12th to play the Wildcats at 2pm. The game will be televised on CBS Sports Network.
