Video: Rams push win streak to 8; defeat GWU 85-57 [INSIDER]

Ram nation didn’t let rain stop them from packing the Siegel Center Saturday afternoon as the rams faced George Washington University. VCU looked to stretch their season high 7 game win streak against the Colonials from D.C. Behind a stellar second half performance, the rams get the 85-57 win.

After an almost even first half, that saw both teams shoot above 50% from the field, VCU turned it on in the second. In the second half, the rams’ stingy defense didn’t let George Washington University score a field goal until 9:50 left in the game.

Junior Marcus Evans led all rams in scoring with 25 points on the afternoon. Evans shot 6-10 from the field and connected on 4-6 from downtown.

Sophomore Marcus Santos-Silva was right behind with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Junior De’Riante Jenkins scored 11 points. Sophomore Corey Douglas chipped in 6 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in the win.

The win moves VCU to 21-6 (12-2) on the season. VCU will host St. Louis on Tuesday, February 26th at 7:30pm. The game will be televised on CBS Sports Network.
