Video: Rams regain speed in exhibition against Virginia Union 98-74

VCU fans packed the Siegel center Friday night, eagerly awaiting the performance the were hoping to see last week against Liberty. This time, they would not be disappointed. VCU hosted the Virginia Union Panthers in their final dress rehearsal before opening night on Friday, November 10th. After a slow start, VCU would pull away to get the 98-74 win.

Senior Khris Lane would lead all Rams in scoring with 21 points while also grabbing 8 rebounds in the win. Sophomore Issac Vann had a great performance chipping in 17 points while shooting 6-11 on the night.

Sophomore Malik Crowfield shot 50% from behind the arc, going 4-8 from three point range getting 16 points for the Rams. Sophomores De’Riante Jenkins and Mike’ll Simms and Senior Johnny Williams would also see double digit scoring with 13,10 and 11 respectively.

Despite the lopsided scoring, the battle of the boards was fairly even. VCU edged the Panthers on the glass 40 to 36.

VCU’s home opening is on Friday, November 10th at 7pm against Grambling.
