Former VCU coach, current Oklahoma coach, Jeff Capel warned his Sooner squad about the intensity of the atmosphere at the Stu, but even he could not anticipate it Saturday night as Oklahoma was upset by the Rams, 82-69.

The occasion marked the first time ever that a ranked team has entered the building but the Rams wouldn't allow OU to ever grab the lead.

Marist transfer, Jay Gavin made the most of his minutes scoring 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists in 26 minutes of play. Larry Sanders played only 21 minutes on his 21st birthday, but scored 17 points on 6 of 10 shooting, blocked 3 shots, and added 4 assists.
