Burgess thanked Ram fans back by dropping a career high 31 points in VCU's 89-77 win over George Mason.
Fired up after George Mason took the court during Burgess' senior moment festivities, the Rams came out angry, dominating the Patriots in the first half by hitting a barrage of threes and turning the Patriots over early and often, 20 total on the evening.
The win locked up the 2nd seed in this year's CAA tournament. VCU will face the winner of the 7 v 10 matchup, catching either Northeastern or William and Mary at 6PM on Saturday.
