Video: VCU battles back to advance to A10 Finals; defeat UR in overtime 87-77 [INSIDER]

After beating George Mason for the third time on Friday, VCU had the same task on Saturday against Richmond in the Atlantic 10 semi-finals. The Rams needed an additional five minutes to advance to the finals on Sunday with a 87-77 overtime win against the Spiders.

Four players scored in double digits for VCU but it would be senior JeQuan Lewis who forced the overtime with a three pointer. Lewis led all with 18 points.

Freshman Samir Doughty chipped in 17, Senior Mo Alie-Cox scored 15 and Junior Justin Tillman got another double double with 11 points and 14 rebounds.

Rebounds proved to be crucial for the Rams as they out rebounded Richmond, 45-29. Richmond Freshman De’Monte Buckingham led everyone in scoring, dropping 26 points.

VCU outscored Richmond in overtime 16-6 and will face Rhode Island tomorrow in the final at 12:30pm. The game will be televised live on CBS.
