VCU knocked off North Florida, 80-68, on Tuesday night to push their win streak to 3 games. Coach Wade shut down North Florida’s 3 point onslaught that they are accustomed to, limiting them to just 5 instead of their traditional 12.9 a game.

Senior Melvin Johnson led all scorers with 23 points while Senior Korey Billbury was right behind with 22. Junior Mo Alie-Cox had a huge night as well, chipping in 19 points and grabbing 5 rebounds.

VCU’s defense forced 17 turnovers for the Ospreys, allowing VCU to turn those into 16 points.

VCU overcame a slow start to move to 8-5 on the season before conference play starts on Saturday, January 2nd against George Mason at The Stu.
