Coach Smart and the VCU Rams sure wish they could forget the first 34 minutes of their rematch against the Pirates of East Carolina on Tuesday night. Luckily, Coach Smart had the team prepared for the final run of the tightly contested game.
"Coach Smart has us playing 6 minute games at each practice" says Junior Guard Joey Rodriguez. The Rams have been working on finishing closely fought games and the work paid off Tuesday night as the Rams got revenge from last years loss to the Pirates in OT down in Greenville.
Former Highland Spring Teammates, Brandon Rozzell and Jamar Abrams turned VCU Ram/ECU Pirate (respectively) met up for the 2nd time, this being Jamar's first trip back home to Richmond at the Stu. This also signaled former VCU Coach, current ECU coach, Mack McCarthy's return to the Stuart C. Siegel Center.
Rams win 82-74.
The Rams host UNC-Wilmington 2pm, Saturday, January 2nd at Home.
