After knocking off Dayton yesterday in thrilling fashion, VCU faced the #1 seed, Rhode Island Rams, coached by Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year, Dan Hurley. It would be a battle until the the end but Rhode Island advances and get the 76-67 win.

Senior Justin Tillman earned his 18th double-double this season with 23 points and 15 rebounds. Fellow senior Johnny Williams chipped in with 6 points and 7 assists.
Sophomores Issac Vann and De’Riante Jenkins scored 10 and 16 respectively.
Rhode Island went 11 of 22 from behind the arc, shooting 50% from three point land and 44% from the field.
Tillman’s 18 double-doubles this season matches Bernard Hopkin’s record from the ’95-’96 season.
This ends VCU’s 7 consecutive years attending the NCAA Tournament.
