The Rams kept pace with the lights-out UNI shooting long enough to really behind yet another sellout crowd, and got big points from Darius Theus and Juvonte Reddic down the stretch.
Bradford Burgess lead VCU with 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting, including 3-5 from long range.
Burgess was one of four Rams in double digits in a night the Rams desperately needed the scoring, as Northern Iowa hit just under 56% of their shots on the evening, including 53% on the night from three-point land.
The Panthers started out hot, going 7-10 from distance, hitting 61.5% of their first half attempts in total.
As they've done throughout the season however, the Rams were able to grind down the Panthers, and turn turnovers (19 from UNI) into points.
The Rams move to 23-6 (13-3 CAA) heading back into conference play. VCU will travel to UNCW (9-17, 5-11) Wednesday with just two games remaining in the regular season.
