The Rams opened up conference play with a win over George Mason on Saturday. The Patriots were picked to finished 13th in the Atlantic 10 conference, VCU picked to finish 4th. Senior Melvin Johnson was the leading scorer on the night with 22 points while Junior Ahmed Hamdy Mohamed was second with a career high 16 points.
