Less than seven months ago Briante Weber saw his college career end after suffering a torn ACL and MCL late in a game against Richmond. Watching the tenacity with which he played his college ball prior to going down that fateful night should make it no surprise that Weber's pro journey may be beginning sooner than we had all imagined.

Weber flew to Indiana yesterday to meet with the NBA's Indiana Pacers in the first of what could be many meetings and workouts with NBA brass (15 teams have reportedly reached out). "Just a meeting", as Weber described it to VCURamNation.com, "..an official visit like college all over again, workout and things like that."
Weber's career ended prematurely, halting him from shattering the NCAA's all-time steals record, just 12 steals shy of Providence's John Lineman's 385 after grabbing both the VCU and Atlantic 10 records. He would have had 15 games left to break the record.
Weber averaged 8.1 points, 4.3 assists and a career-best 3.9 steals his senior season. The Chesapeake native led the nation in steals percentage in all four of his seasons as a Ram, the first time any player has done so in the history of the stat.
