Siegel Center. Their last loss in the month came back in 2002. The Rams welcomed a familiar team in Wichita State to the Stu. This marked the third season in a row that VCU has played the Shockers from the Missouri Valley Conference.

The night started off slow as both teams struggled from the field but the crowd could only stand and watch at the end as WSU hit a 19 foot jumper with 3.8 seconds left to win it for the Shockers, 53-51. Junior Juvonte Reddic had a chance to tie it up at the line for the Rams but couldn't connect on the free throws.

This Wichita State team may have seen a lot of turnover in the off season but the Shockers looked to match up well against VCU's havoc defense, beating the full court pressure most of the time.

Reddic was huge for the Rams tonight, leading all Rams with 22 points. Reddic was also big on the glass tonight with 10 rebounds.

VCU got a taste of their own medicine offensively in the first half. The Shockers outshot the Rams 35% to 30%. Defensively, the Rams experienced 14 turnovers while forcing 13 from WSU in the game.

Last week the Rams had 30 plus points off turnovers against Florida Gulf Coast, tonight against the Shockers, just 9. Free throws also proved to be critical for the Rams only connecting on 12 of 24.

The Rams will travel down to North Carolina on Saturday to play Winthrop.
