Williams leads Rams to victory over Billikens, 64-50

The VCU Rams (23-5, 13-2 A10) beat the Billikens of St. Louis, 64-50, in route to their 9th straight win.

VCU's bench added 19 points to the game tonight. Junior Jonathan Williams scored 17 of those points while going 5-6 from the free throw line.

The Rams used a 17-5 run to close the first half. Williams and Justin Tillman scored 5 and 7 points, respectively, to make up the final 11 points for VCU.

Tillman would end the night with his 7th double-double of the year with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

The Rams out-rebounded the Billikens, 41-32. Three Rams finished with 5 or more rebounds: Tillman, Mo Alie-Cox (7), and Doug Brooks (6).

Jalen Johnson led St. Louis scoring production going 5-8 form the floor for 17 points. He also added a team-high 7 rebounds.

Davell Roby was the only other double-digit scorer for SLU with 11 points.

The Rams were able to turn 16 SLU turnovers into 19 points on the other end.

VCU will hit the road next to take on the Rams of Rhode Island. The game is scheduled for February 25th, with a 2:00PM tip-off.
