Not terribly surprising in this time we're in. They were carrying 25 sports, which probably wouldn't have been sustainable even in the best of circumstances.
Yeah, considering La Salle has a history of financial issues they really shouldn’t have 25 sports.

games against teams no better than Liberty
You do realize they qualified for the NCAAT last year. VCU wasn't getting in without running the A10T.
They made the NCAAT the prior year and won their first game. VCU was a no show. When was the last time VCU won a NCAAT game?
The last time VCU played LU it was at the Stu and they whipped our butts.

Not sure what you meant by that comment.

La Salle baseball finished in last place of the A-10 each of the last 4 years. That now drops A-10 baseball to 12 teams. Recently, the La Salle women's volleyball team has been middle of the road in the A-10. That now drops the number of A-10 women's volleyball teams to 9. Men's basketball has finished in the lower half of the A-10 the last few years, as has the women's basketball team.

At some point, schools like La Salle and Fordham need to bite the bullet and decide if the A-10 is the BEST fit for their athletics. If you can't even compete in the arms race in your own conference in order to be competitive, then maybe a move to a lower conference might be best for your school and your student athletes.

my comment was not a knock on any in-state team - I just tried to list the other D1 schools that were not in the A10 already (been a fan and supporter for 40+ years no need to be argumentative - not all comments have hidden meanings/agenda )
There was a time in the 70s when other state schools with bigger reputations were nice enough to play non conference games with VCU like UR, W&M, UVA, Tech
Last time we played Liberty was an exhibition (hurricane relief exhibitition that NCAA allowed) at the Siegel Center in 2017 (they beat us big)
Last time we played Liberty in a real game we beat them by less than 10
