Brutal indeed. What a way for his college career to end. He should hopefully be able to get a waiver.

He already got a waiver, if he chooses to use it. The RT-D article today even referenced it. It said it is unclear if Sherod will attempt another comeback since he just turned 23 last Friday and is in his first year of grad school.

All winter sports athletes were granted an extra year of eligibility earlier this month due to COVID-19.

Oof tough break for Nick. I commend him on understanding the situation and making the smart decision to focus on his health vs basketball career. A lot of people will try to push through those kind of injuries and set themselves up for a lot of pain and suffering later on in life. Good luck to him as he pivots into another chapter of his life!

Hate to see serious injuries but its a fact of life for athletes all too often. Wonder if he would even want to risk another year of college ball.
Might be better off financially to rehab and shop himself overseas.

Or use that FUR degree to get a job.

Jim Ferry is now their interim coach. When VCU plays Penn State it will be like playing Duquesne again.

Chambers was so scared to play us he dipped.
Ummm he made comments pertaining to a noose and directed it at Rasir Bolton, who is a Petersburg, Va native. Also has other allegations of racist treatment of other players. He should never be able to coach again.

Awful news out of Richmond. Hate to see players go down, especially in the preseason

That is a really tough situation for young Mr. Sherod. Definitely a rough way to (possibly) wrap up your career.

Also, it's a crying shame he wasn't a VCU Ram...(Sherod > Fraser/Crow all day...no offense intended)

helluva career
1,192 points/441 bords/143 assists/85/steals.......Kid was a total swiss army knife. Good luck to him going forward!!
