Discuss next years schedule
UVA @ VCU - November 17, 2017 (Friday)
Texas @ VCU -????
DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO
URI here or revenge is a dish best served cold.
I would rather have the $500,000 buyout than play Texas next year. We could use the cash. That is an entire year's worth of Cost of Attendance for us.
Use the $500k to get a buy game with a team better than Texas.
Have 'em wire it directly to Coach W.
Doesn't Texas bring a lot back? Plus Matt Coleman? Minus an unhappy Tevin Mack? Equals a good team?
I mean, I like watching Bevo get hooked by its own horns as much as the next non-UT grad, but fivers to fritters say they'll be a tough out next season.
IDK, they lost 9 of their last 10 games without the unhappy Mr. Mack. And the one they won was a choke job by another crappy team.
Absolutely not!!! You have to play those games at the Stu whatever it takes to get them to come here. And FYI - The buyout is $250,000, not $500,000.
I am willing to bet that Texas will be atleast a 20 win team again next year
I stand corrected. Was mixing up my buyouts. He had a $500,000 one-time buyout and then it is $250,000 if they buyout the home and home. Thank you for correcting me.
Here is a quote from the Sporting News article about Shaka's deal at Texas: Texas will pay Virginia Commonwealth a one-time $500,000 fee to buy out Smart’s contract there, and the Longhorns must also play a home-and-home series against the Rams in the future or pay $250,000. They will probably lose their best player, the freshman center, to the draft
