didn't they tell us our opponent for the 1st real Emerald Classic game? I thought I remembered hearing it was Purdue, but I could be misremembering (if that's still a thing).

Ok I went back and fixed it. Not sure what is up with that dude's Docket thing.... needs to get to dates fixed.... but I wish VCU would just release the schedule already but I guess we are waiting on a couple more games still

I do wonder how the change from RPI to NET will impact the debate. Has anyone done an analysis of the ranking change?
Yeah, I mean theoretically a team can pump up their NET ranking by scheduling crap teams and destroying them, but the committee made quite clear that teams with a bad NCSOS were gonna get left out. So Duquesne, Bona, being this type of team really helps VCU, Dayton, and Davidson more than it will their own chances of making the dance.

NC State absolutely did this last year. I was a little worried they'd get away with it, too.

Purdue #20. Will be a monster game for us, here's hoping for a good outcome. It should pay dividends either way, though.

Not an opponent, but also of some interest: UVA #14.

Would a conference be able to encourage a team who has a very little chance of making the dance schedule like that to game the NET rankings? Quad 4 conference games are just frustrating as a fan.

Yep and I'm almost positive there's a memo to this effect strongly encouraging this. If you feel like your team isn't yet in a position to compete for an at-large bid, then schedule light to lift up the rest of the conference.
