ouchAnd according to the Warren Nolan site the A-10 is the 14th ranked conference. So we are officially back in the old CAA.

Fwiw, our RPI was 27 at year end last season. Overall SOS was 16. Prior to NET and this quadrant trash that would not only have been a bid but a safe one.So apparently the NCAA made some major tweaks to their SOS formula, to the point that Bracketologists.com now shows both the old-style SOS and the new-style one. There are some major differences - VCU's RPI SOS is 78 while their NET SOS is 110. Saint Louis, though...
Just their next step in making the NCAA tournament a top 5/6 conference event (with a few exceptions). So apparently the NCAA made some major tweaks to their SOS formula, to the point that Bracketologists.com now shows both the old-style SOS and the new-style one. You don’t think those games that happened before any of our players were born matter to the outcome this year???I'm not saying you are wrong, but we've played Radford exactly 1 time in the 21st century. The "dropped two of last four" is kind of an odd take.
Of course it's Mike Rhoades' fault we got blown out by Radford back in 1998.You don’t think those games that happened before any of our players were born matter to the outcome this year???
LOL
Never said we were to blame. Though you could argue whether not continuing to rise as a program made us less appealing for possible relocation to another conference.VCU is NOT to blame for this, but we also aren't holding up our end as much as we could.
Same could be said for Dayton and SLU the last few years too. We've all had a few underwhelming seasons.
It's his tired take about VCU thinking we're better than lower rated state schools.I'm not saying you are wrong, but we've played Radford exactly 1 time in the 21st century. The "dropped two of last four" is kind of an odd take.
These type of scams are why I wouldn't be surprised if more and more people get turned off by sports in the coming years. That and increasingly more entertainment options means these sports entities need to be careful. So apparently the NCAA made some major tweaks to their SOS formula, to the point that Bracketologists.com now shows both the old-style SOS and the new-style one. Honestly I wasn't really responding to your post, I was just providing my generic opinion on the A10's stature as a whole and how VCU plays into it. My bad if it came off like I was disagreeing with you, I just happened to be responding to your comment.Never said we were to blame. Though you could argue whether not continuing to rise as a program made us less appealing for possible relocation to another conference.
Mason sucks.Who said anything about blaming Mike Rhoades for anything? VCU is incredibly lucky to have him, and I hope he stays another 15 years ... my point is about look-down-your-nose scheduling. VCU has played on the road at JMU, Radford, Longwood, Liberty and Hampton at times when the Rams had multiple NCAA appearances, national recognition, and those in-state schools were on D-1 training wheels. All those road trips have been scratched, along with, omg, ODU. In fact, I doubt VCU would play at GMU if the Patsies weren't in the A10. It really wasn't until fairly recent times that VCU had the revenue or the willingness to "buy" a five-game home winning streak that is about to begin. Eventually, I suppose the Rams will play one high-profile tournament outside of Richmond and then 11 "buy" games to assure a record of no worse than 11-2 heading into conference. You can't blame VCU ... if fans are willing to pay $40 for one scoop of ice cream, why give them two?

I figured you'd eventually get to your pet issue regarding buy games.Who said anything about blaming Mike Rhoades for anything?
