UCF is in the much stronger AAC at the moment, and going to the Big 12 next year. Like it or not, easier for them to schedule than us at this point, imho.
"At the moment" you must mean right this minute? Over the years the AAC has only been ranked a couple of spots ahead of the A-10 and we've roughly sent the same number of teams to the tournament most years. One school, Houston, has been a monster in recent years, but overall the AAC has not been "much stronger" than the A-10 from what I can tell.

We’ve only played Virginia Tech once since 1995. Again, I’m thinking that no one in a position of authority now at either Virginia Tech or VCU was around the respective schools back then.
Really doesn't matter, stuff gets passed along. The same way schools may play each other because of tradition, I suppose they can also not play each other because of tradition. Kentucky and Louisville went 24 years without playing each other.

That's because Kentucky basketball was one snobbish bunch back then. No one else was good enough to do anything but smell their rear ends. Yes, when I lived in Kentucky, my experience of Kentucky fans was not good. Louisville fans and Western Kentucky fans, on the other hand, I liked a lot.

Texas Tech is 10 spots ahead of us and doesn't have a single Q1 or Q2 win. 0-8

JMU is ahead of us with 4 Q4 losses.

UAB is ahead of us with just one Q2 win.

I know we have discussed this to death, and we haven't been the best this season, but darn dude no matter how I look at this stuff or try to break it down it just seems random af.

Somebody really explain how UABs record whose best win is a neutral # 80 with 3 Q3 losses is objectively better than a squad with wins against neutral # 61 and away # 40 and 1 Q3 loss and 1 Q4 loss. It's just not better in any capacity unless you weigh the Q4 loss way heavier than anything else. Which is dumb cause in any given game a team can just shoot red hot and beat anybody. The whole body of work should matter most. And even if that's the case how does JMU get ranked higher with 4 Q4 losses? Thier best win is an away #65?!?

I would think Mike Young would understand the plight of non-p5 scheduling, coming from Wofford. I’d love a h/h against them.

Pitt has moved into 50th in NET ranking giving us our 2nd Q1 win of the season.
The resume's starting to look better. Unfortunately Jacksonville lost badly to Liberty last night and they fell further away from that 161 mark we need them to be at for the Q4 loss to go away. VCU is now the only team in the A10 with more than one Q1 win.

It would be nice if SLU could get up to 75 by the time we play them at Chaifetz so we gain another Q1 win opportunity before the A10 tournament.

You're right. It doesn't matter, but man, 28 years is a long time to hold a grudge in college basketball if your names are Virginia Tech and VCU.

I'd love that or even a neutral court game against them from time-to-time.

I'm very much wishing right now that we'd pulled them into the A10 and not Loyola Chicago.
Charleston is really good. I'm not sure how much longer Pat Kelsey will stay there, though, he is likely going to get some P5 interest as he's an excellent coach and a very likable person (unless you're a UMass fan) - I've seen his name mentioned for the Notre Dame job.

Agreed. I would still love to know what exactly happened for them to take that stance.
