I don’t think its that far off. I think Fermin and John have a slightly different min distribution (18/10 vs 21/8) but otherwise I tend to think its fair based on what we know right now. I know you have high hopes for JMac so that is probably one reason you disagree 🤷‍♂️

Also its not wrong just a different opinion at this point ;)

GTA loves to reply to people with "wrong" and no substance, so I'm just returning the favor.

There's no way Watkins isn't starting if he's healthy. And there's no way a likely 235+ lbs Fermin isn't starting or first off the bench.

As freshmen Watkins got 18 minutes a game and DeLoach got 14. I think Billups and Fermin will get at least that much run next year. I also think Watkins is a starter.

If you want them to be around for their sophomore seasons they will certainly have to get more than the above proposal.

I also agree Watkins is a starter. I should have clarified I thought the min. were close with the exception I noted. Injuries could increase anyones minutes and talent will make it harder for others to get minutes. Again, just spitballin at this point

Shriver is not going to play more minutes than Watkins and he’s not going to play more minutes than Kern and Billups combined.

If he does, then look for all 3 of those guys to be in the transfer portal after the season.

If shriver plays that many minutes it means we are not very good

A reminder about Billups, AA posted this in March:
I was talking to someone the other day who stood beside Coach Rhoades talking to him the entire game. Coach told him that Fats was going to be a rotation player right off the bat and play heavy minutes. I said, did he say "heavy"? His answer was....yessir.

I doubt that has changed, and I see 20+ mpg for him.

Oh, the things coaching staffs will say to kids (and their families) on the trail……..and then reality sets in on the D-1 hardwood.

Kern: 0-7 from three in 315 minutes (frosh)
Banks: 12-56 from three in 407 minutes (career)
Billups/Fermin: Not playing against 6’0” public school kids anymore
Tsohonis: Was probably expecting “Bones” minutes/role until Nunn (frosh) grabbed ‘em
Nichols: Was probably expecting “Corey” minutes/role until Deloach (frosh) grabbed ‘em

Every kid expects to play. And they should. Until they don’t. Because they can’t (or won’t). Shoot. (or score efficiently; or play tough D; or play intelligently; or fully accept/grasp their role; or stay healthy)

Alexander Harper was expecting a fruitful 3 years with the Rams…….until BA Walker (a willing/accurate shooter and steady hand) happened.

We have just 4 kids that have proven they can stroke it at a decent clip from deep at the D-1 level. Ace, Nunn, Johns, Shriver.

We just lost efficient “hybrid 3-4” Vince Williams from a historically bad/inefficient offense. Shriver is a 6’6” senior (VW backfill) with a high/quick release and a pedigree. If he’s stroking it (and not turning down shots and or turning it over as others tend to do), he’ll get solid minutes. Could be a “Mike Jones” type.

The 3-ball, after all, has produced some of our finest moments/teams. Check our 2007 NCAA squad 3-pt accuracy. Our 2011 Final 4 run/squad. Troy Daniels era. Melvin Johnson. Jequan Lewis. Bones Hyland.
