i think that may be what it takes to get the same level of recruit while competing w p6s in the age of nil
yes, no stone unturned. We have to look everywhere, continue to evaluate talent at a high level and get to kids before blow up, build relationships.
I won't hurt either if we make a run in the NCAAs this year.

Looks like this may be a Tobi connection! They already know each other (follow each other)
I was going to say I wonder if he knows Tobi. I would imagine the number of guys over there with D1 talent/aspirations is a pretty small group. They probably all at least know of each other if they don't know one another personally.

G'town coach Pat Ewing was recently on the North Side to show interest .... Parker's "godfather" is Milton Bell (also from JM) who went to G-Town (although it didn't work out, Bell played many seasons overseas) ... Mike Rhoades was definitely recruiting Parker as of last winter ... I personally saw him at the JM vs. Greensville playoff game at Huguenot. Parker is a tremendous talent (not too unlike Bell) but, like many, he's fallen in love with the 3-point shot. Just ran into Kendrick Warren the other day ... he's still coach at TJ; his son, Special K Jr., is going to a prep school in Chesterfield.

To my knowledge we never seriously pursued him. There is likely a pretty good reason for that. I made a post last year that it was highly unlikely we would go after Dennis hard given the fact that we had just landed Fats. You are talking about two local top 100 players of similar size who will likely end up playing the same position. Recruiting local stars can be tricky. Historically at least, it has been difficult at best to recruit two local stars for the same position. You have to be extra careful about the appearance of recruiting over a prized local star. It's easier to pull this off with non-local kids. We don't know what commitments were made during the recruitment of Fats. None of this is insider information but likely explains the rationale for the non-aggressive recruitment of Dennis.

Fats is going to contribute right away. Very talented and a great young man.
