Not much mention of VCU in Rothstein's Atlantic 10 preview article, but it does contain this gem:

"The Spiders look like an old, experienced, and complete basketball team that should finally return to the NCAA Tournament in 2022 after an 11-year absence."

The opening line should have been….”most of the current Spiders’ squad were freshman the last time they sniffed the tourney in 2011, but it looks like year 11 together may finally provide a golden opportunity to be mentioned on selection sunday as one of the first four out”

Their fifth year seniors were most likely 13 year old middle school students when UR last made the NCAA tournament.

Frankly, I’d be embarrassed if this was our team. Oldest team in America, ever!!!! Wonder how the widdle “Pidahs” will react if they drop another dud in their season?

Interesting first question regarding the a10 and if it's trending towards a 1 bid league. Don't know how much Bernadette and company can help teams schedule ooc games but should we draw back the number of conference games? What if Fordham and whoever is picked to be second worst team that year just play each other 16 times for their own conference so the rest of us don't have to deal with them?

Still think Fordham 2001-2002 has to be one of the biggest disappointments.
Take a coach who won 120+ games in 2 seasons as a head NBA coach in the last 5 seasons.
Add a 1&done, #74&#77 recruits and one NYC playground legend.
and that equals…. 8-20

That may be difficult to top. Even if Mooney says “Hold my Chardonnay!“ this season.
