Speaking of NIL money, the announcers yesterday during the Texas/Baylor game said Bijan Robinson for Texas is currently making $2 million annually in NIL money. They also said it would take about $6 million in NIL money next year in order for Robinson to come back to Texas next year vs. going pro. They also said he is the third highest paid college athlete when it comes to NIL.
If anyone thinks that kind of NIL money is good for college sports, then they can't see the forest for the trees. NIL will eventually be the death of college sports as we know it unless they get it under control. If they don't get NIL under control, then get ready for VCU to compete annually with the likes of JMU and Towson on the recruiting trail. It's not going to be pretty.
