Ward had 0 points and 4 rebounds. Osunniyi had 2 points and 4 rebounds. They're spending more time counting their NIL money than they are playing basketball.
It's a weird feeling and I see it both ways...

As an avowed capitalist and free market believer...I'm glad he cashed in. I'm sure his family appreciates the dough

As an avowed VCU fan (and a fan of college basketball) it seems a shame he's relegated to a dozen minutes a game

He's never been further from the NBA, but...he'll get a chance to hustle overseas...that's Life and Business and Basketball anymore

They’re still going to the ACC Championship Game… anyway.

Do you really think they care about the regular season that much? They’re just waiting for March.
Because they play in an absolutely awful division in football. Kind of ridiculous.

Yeah, ultimately he did what he thought was best for him and his family in Barbados. It’s a shame he traded being a starter here for playing a few minutes a game at a P5 to do it, but in the end that was his decision to make.

Speaking of NIL money, the announcers yesterday during the Texas/Baylor game said Bijan Robinson for Texas is currently making $2 million annually in NIL money. They also said it would take about $6 million in NIL money next year in order for Robinson to come back to Texas next year vs. going pro. They also said he is the third highest paid college athlete when it comes to NIL.

If anyone thinks that kind of NIL money is good for college sports, then they can't see the forest for the trees. NIL will eventually be the death of college sports as we know it unless they get it under control. If they don't get NIL under control, then get ready for VCU to compete annually with the likes of JMU and Towson on the recruiting trail. It's not going to be pretty.
