Pitt sweeps a really dirty tar heel team

3 fouls on Carolina which could have easily been called hook and holds on their guards...even the espn commentators noticed and said so.
UNC played chippy all of the first half. Did not watch second half.

All the fouls that I saw were in the last 7 minutes of games. They were hooking the non dribbling arm of either Burton, sambande or Cummings as they driving to the basket...

It's really bad when the espn color guys says on National tv. "That could have been called a hook and hold" twice!

Not an opponent but they certainly used to be. I grew up with JMU basketball. I can still remember Coach Campanelli bringing his players over to our 3rd floor church basketball court to play pick up. Townes, Fisher, Ruland, Blackmon, DuPont, Shoulders, etc. His team gave UNC all they could handle in the 1st round. IMO JMU won that game. Ha! Rest in Peace Coach Campanelli 🙏

Was Dan Ruland related to Jeff Ruland?

“I see the morning has brought the finest people. I see their bravery and spirit. The time has come, I can feel it; the excitement, I can hear it. I see the folks with gray in their hair, and I see the kids all young and scrawny, their eyes and cheeks aglow from the cold, clean air of sweet Punxsutawney. I see that everyone knows their part, and I am merely the sage. But above all else I see a spider on my stage. And so no matter how you measure, it’s six more years of Coach Mooney.”
He encouraged those in attendance to start thinking about renewing their season tickets again next year — and those watching from the warmth of their homes to join the festivities in person next year.
Following Phil’s prognostication, his Phaithful Phollowers dispersed from Gobbler’s Knob at the dawn of a crisp, sunny winter day.
It was still very, very cold.

Did anyone watch the UR/Bona game? I still cannot believe that UR was down 3 with 50 seconds left and they fouled their best foul shooter. Mooney had to tell them to play good D at the timeout right? If he did then Goose made a huge mental error. It was crazy.

I watched it. Ur should have played D and tried to secure the rebound.

So, it's like players don't always do on the floor what they are coached to do in practice or in huddles during stoppages in play. Shocking! Shocking, I tell you!! Who would ever think that players wouldn't do exactly what the coaches say at all times. :o

The preceding paragraph was meant to be a joke, so anyone reading it, please just take it in the light-hearted manner in which it was intended.
