23-24 Opponent Tracking Thread

I expected VCU to be 2nd. Seems now like he is gonna have VCU completely out of his Top 144 and have Duquesne winning the A10. I cannot imagine him picking VCU 1st with all of the changes.

I hear what you are saying but there is no way in heck looking at the list that VCU is out of the Top 144

Maybe he forgot VCU existed.

I wouldn't even begin to do an A10 ranking, so much has changed (without looking, who is playing SF at UMass?). The idea that some schmoe on the internet claims to know enough about all 350+ D1 teams to select and place in ordinal ranking the top 144 of them is sort of ludicrous.

Did anyone look at the Dayton write-up? According to the author, they have 5 returning players and 11 new players. 16 players makes me go: Hmmm.
Looks like they have 18 in total on the roster 🤷‍♂️

Looking through the list more generally, one thing I noticed was how very many teams are going through a total, or almost total rebuild this year. Although VCU does have a new coach, we are hardly alone in having an essentially new team. Of course, since the majority of teams are near or complete rebuilds, it is pretty silly to try and rank them.

That's going to be pretty much the new norm going forward in college basketball.

But Joe Bamisile can't get a waiver. Okay.

The complete lack of transparency here just infuriates me. If there is a distinguishing factor that tipped this case in an opposite direction from the vast majority of such cases, explain that. Otherwise (and especially with this organization) it looks at best random and at worst corrupt. And (especially with this organization) no one is going to have to struggle to believe the latter.
