And those prediction have us:
19 spots behind JMU
20 behind Tarleton State
13 behind UMass Lowell
2 behind Duquesne
18 behind UMass
28 behind Seattle
21 behind Grand Canyon
7 behind Hofstra

It’s a śhit show.
We need to get to our potential, if there is one, immediately. Outside of winning the A10 Tournament, getting to our potential much later won’t mean much.
Agreed, we need to keep improving and hit our potential sooner rather than later.

Those numbers you show for the other schools prove just how unbelievably useless these predictions are now. They mean nothing.

Did I just read a tweet from @BracketForecast that said NET rankings come out tomorrow? Cool!

No bad losses doesn’t mean we’ve lost to good team. We’ve lost to mediocre teams.
our "marquee" games this year were weaker than in years past. we cant get into the best holiday tournaments every year and it was kinda lucky for us we were in a so-so one this year the way we've been playing.

Nine wins in a row is definitely possible with what we have in front of us (and then the bogus hype we can build up from simply winning games we are supposed to win...but sometimes that's honestly what a program needs and I'm all for it!). The game at Duquesne would be the one I circle that could cause us to slip up though before we hit a nine-gamer. Also Foster Loyer waiting for us after that one could get dicey too.

We pretty much always have a game somewhere in a stretch like that where we lose to a team that should never even stay close.

Could be Radford this year. They've played some good teams (Marquette, Notre Dame) well on the road.

Yep. I was thinking the same thing. Radford just spanked GW yesterday and they score points. That game will be a problem. Sad to say that. Heck, I still remember the early 90s game where they won by one point. In the late 90s VCU was crushed by Radford a couple of times. VCU leads the series 6-3.

Personally I'd rather focus on a 5 game winning streak meaning we win all 5 of our remaining non-con games before Christmas.
I don't care what the final score is, I just want to get BETTER.

Like a few of you said, Raddy will probably be the toughest test. I'd also watch out for Navy, they upset Virginia at JPJ last season.

My *hope* is that we win all 5 of these games and hopefully a few of these aren't really close. If that happens, we can build some momentum heading into A10 play and we can look back at the KS game and chalk it up as a fluke bad game w/o two of our best players.

To the basketball experts, no secret we have had a ton of scoring droughts this year. Why? We haven't exactly played any elite defensive teams except maybe ASU. Is it schemes we run, the players, a combination? I keep hearing players will play, but to my untrained eye, the offense looks like a mess. Given that, I don't think a nine game win streak is in the cards.

I'm far from a basketball expert, but in my amateur opinion it is difficult to score or get into a rhythm when you turn to ball over... uh, frequently. As to how we fix that, there's always Stick'Um!

Does this become an official prediction thread?!?
