I agree with all of what you said. I'm just condensing my focus to the rest of non-con play. A 5-0 record and what appears to be team & individual improvements will give me confidence ahead of our home game vs La Salle on NYE.

Hopefully they are focused on Wed. Interesting match up. They’re huge. Forcing teams to chuck 3s and only allow 8 free throw attempts per game.

Agreed and we pulled miracles to beat Kennesaw, Vanderbilt, and Pitt. Usually I’m more confident in our teams even after losing in the OOC but I’m not this season. We haven’t played a great game at all this year.

For what it is worth Kenpom has VCU losing 69-68 at Duquesne and 64-63 at Loyola. He also predicts that VCU will lose another non conference game even though they are favored in the remaining non conference games.

If they can go on a 8-1 run it would be a huge accomplishment.

I understand your comment is in response to the thread title, but I don't really get why anyone is focused on the next 9 games.

We have 5 non-con games through 12/21. Then we have a break a 9 day break that includes the Christmas holiday before we have our A10 opener vs La Salle on 12/31. I could give a rats a$$ about A10 play at the moment. Let's hopefully get right in these next 5 non-con games.

We did but what I mean is we had to have some things go our way (Stackhouse double tech to get thrown out vs Vandy (at home), playing behind all game vs Kennesaw at home until playing lights out in the final 3 minutes, and letting a bad Pitt team continue to hang around and got fortunate they missed a few wide open looks).

Just wait for the season to unfold. And by my logic, I’d say we are not a very good team currently. Sucks NC State got worked by them at home. Awful loss for the Wolfpack.
