Screw the board. The program will be ugly. This board will be ugly until Mike is fired.
I mean, I'm still good with starting one next game. Realistically I want to see us take each game at a time but I won't complain if they decide everything clicks after tonight and run off nine or ten in a row.Admins, can I lock this thread? It's about to get really ugly in here.
I was trying really hard to be optimistic. It's becoming really difficult after tonight.I mean, I'm still good with starting one next game. Realistically I want to see us take each game at a time but I won't complain if they decide everything clicks after tonight and run off nine or ten in a row.
CBI would turn us down tbh playing like this.Forget the NCAA's. This isn't even an NIT quality team.
Yes, it's going to ugly here.
I get that. I'm definitely a homer, but I try for realistic. So, realistically, we aren't playing well right now and have been disjointed all season. Our metrics aren't likely to be much better than middling by the time we start conference play. We need way more on offense from several heavy minutes guys, and we need to shorten the bench.I was trying really hard to be optimistic. It's becoming really difficult after tonight.
The lack of offensive game plan hurts the assists. Not many breaks off turnovers and of course putrid 3 point shooting. Passing around the perimeter without going inside out does not lend itself for good clean shots. We are near the bottom in the country in assist…can’t get each other looks and can’t make them when we do
A date that will live in infamy…I get that. I'm definitely a homer, but I try for realistic. So, realistically, we aren't playing well right now and have been disjointed all season. However, it's a simple fact that today's December 7th. It's also a simple fact that the regular season doesn't end until the first week of March. We have a ton of time left to figure out a rotation and jell as a team - if we have to drop two in a row, I'd rather do it now than in February. We haven't made things any easier on ourselves with this loss, but it's one loss. Let's not let it be more than that, and let's win the next one. It can be surprising how effective putting one foot in front of the other is (so long as you don't step out of bounds).
Sure has looked to me like we need to ditch the two big lineups and commit to pressing for a while now. Wouldn't hurt to push our pace some, either.VCU has no identity. Diamond press can work for 40 but they only have one foot in. Live or die by an all out press like the last 5 minutes. VCU subs like they want to but the game plan does not follow suit. Love the players but their talents are not being maximized. Running the half court offense around the permitter is a recipe for losing because there are no assists off an inside out game. The coaches need to figure this out because it has been ugly to watch for quite some time. Not since the pre-Capel era have I seen such poor game planning.
