League A10 Basketball: news and discourse around the league

lasalle can go. we kick out fordham or duquesne then our conference is losing two top 6 teams. i could see the argument for umass or richmond.
LaSalle is the weakest A10 member, hands down
  • minimal financial support of multiple programs
  • HS gym style basketball "arena"
  • in 2020....they cut a ton of sports (Baseball/Softball/Volleyball/Men's Tennis/Women's Tennis/Water Polo/Men's Swimming/Men's Diving) to "better align" with the A10 Conference...130 kids lost their scholarships
  • Their campus is a DUMP
  • Their Philly market is made redundant by St. Joe's
  • Recent Fitch Ratings have LaSalle going from "stable" to "negative" based on their financial situations ($80 million endowment/122 million in debt....stuff like that. LaSalle Fitch Report
LaSalle adds literally NOTHING to the A10, Kick em to the curb and let them explore the Northeast Conference.

Fordham, regardless of their Cupcake Comeback, would be next on my list.

Travis Ford, in an A-10 tourney presser, mentioned that teams had been told to schedule easier due to the efficiency portion of the NET.

Well there were some teams with great NET numbers because of that who were left out come tourney time, because they couldn't point to even one significant win. So, I'm not so sure about that advice.

I seem to recall Mike Rhoades mentioning a lot of confusion about the guidance coming out of the A10 office last year as well.

Coach Odom made an interesting comment about scheduling last night. He said that next offseason he thinks he will be more involved with his connections around the country to help get OOC games at the Stu and at a neutral site. Oh and road games.

I have to say that comment made me raise my eyebrows. Why would he think he shouldn't use those connections for this season? It's curious.

I put it on YouTube. It is in the Offseason thread or just search AlienAiden on YouTube. I created an account so I had a place to host the 25 minute video.
