They just want to get all 15 of their teams into the postseason somehow. Last season, 12 of the 15 teams in the ACC got postseason tournament bids (9 NCAA, 3 NIT).

For once the ACC seems to be making recommendations that are not so self serving.
Moving the 3 line back and widening the lane are long overdue at the college level
resetting shot clock to 20 is a no brainer too
The one that I could take or leave is the expansion of the tourney by another 8 teams . My guess is they would do the same as they do now by taking the next four lowest teams and have them play to become the 16 seed and add four teams that will play-in to 11 or 12 seeds (like VCU did in our magical run)
I have always believed that no conference should have more than 1/2 of their teams in the Tourney but too much money for P-5 or P-6 to ever change that one. The at or above .500 in conference play is also reasonable as Mike T. suggests above

I'd like to see a rule where you need to play at least .500 in conference to be an at-large bid. They do not need to increase the field & I have no problem with them moving the 3 pt line back.
I'm on board with the .500 rule, 100%. I'll even take the expanded field if it means getting that in return.

If they required a .500 conference record for at-large bids, the field wouldn't need expanding. If anything, there probably wouldn't be enough at-large bids at that point. That'd potentially be good news for non-P5 schools...which is exactly why such a rule will never happen.

Too bad all the rest of us have to be held hostage to the P5 club. We far out number them, but of course they would cry and take their ball and go home, if the rest of us started out voting them on a regular basis.

All of these suggestions make sense

The league also supports moving back the 3-point line, widening the lane and having the shot clock reset to 20 seconds after offensive rebounds.
This needs to happen.
