Last year went well. We ran out of gas late but had we not had the AB-less start we wouldnt have had such a razor thing margin of error. We were all good and better than a lot of times that got in. We didnt it happens.
I would disagree on the well part. We looked bad offensively most games and managed to win. We blew some keys games that could have put us in the NCAAs. We got blasted at home in one of our worst losses ever at home. We loss in the A10 quarterfinals which is very rare territory for us. Actually we probably made a few bad records/firsts for VCU basketball last year. So I don’t think we did well. That’s just my view.

I mean it felt that way with Evans and then Bones a lot of times. Look at our teams when Evans wasn’t playing well or was injured. We weren’t that good tbh. Bones went out we looked rough except when Ace played out of his mind. It seems no matter how talented we supposively are we always need one guy playing at a super high level consistently. We haven’t been balanced under Rhoades. That’s just fact. We were under previous coaches where multiple players could step up any given night.
The last sentence is a lie and selective memory. We looked like poop when Treveon was hurt a few times in 2014-2015 (home loss vs La Salle) and we went 5-5 w/o Bri that year. When Melvin got hurt in the 2016 A10 Tournament, we looked AWFUL against St Joe’s in the title game.

We won the A10 tourney in 2015 that included blow wins. Not bad for a injured poop team.

And that’s why some of us distinguish between having Ace available and not having Ace available. There is a discernible difference.

And that makes things better? This team should not rely on one player having the game of his life. Its absurd our player that’s been out for a wrist injury has to play the game of his life for us to win against a subpar sec team. No less with what 3 T’s and still nearly blew the game?

Jeez even Maynor got some help.

Yes, having Ace makes things better, but it is not perfect. Still a ways to go to get to the point that we are consistently good. We just beat an SEC team. It was far from perfect (missed two dunks and 12 FTs), but I’ll take it and be happy.

Consistently good? Without Ace we get trounced tonight. Deloach was horrible. Shriver shouldn’t be on the floor. Watkins was not that great but hit a big shot. And it’s Vandy. Not Kentucky. Is it good to win? Absolutely. But we are far from good. We’re just lucky Ace can show up and play the game of his life.

I get it. You seem like a pessimist, which is fine. Seriously, that’s cool. I’m more optimistic. It’s ok. That’s what makes the world go ‘round.

I don't do selfies, don't even really look in the mirror, and certainly don't wear things as warm as hoodies to games, but this was COMFY tonight!

So I guess wearing this tonight was a good move?
