Okay. I decided to ask one of the well known supporters of Maryland basketball about ace. Here was his response.

It appears we are safe...

Would love to hear how you think this means “we are safe”.

This guy probably knows just as much as we do of the situation. Until we hear one way or another Ace is a RAM, and I for one hope it stays that way.

He's got a pretty good feel as an avid terp supporter for what's going on at Maryland.

I'm just saying that I feel more confidence about the Ace situation than before talking to him.

Look to the post above that one..the article..the interview below..to say Baldwin doesn't have any connections to Maryland is wrong..4 players on the Terrapin roster were teammates with Ace at SFA or In AAU..

I am not saying Ace is leaving..but there is an ample amount of evidence to believe Maryland could be a legitimate thread.

We have 10+ players that are teammates of Ace at VCU!

If Ace decides to go somewhere else Maryland and just about every other school in the country would want him. We know that much already. The question is does he want to go somewhere else or stay at VCU?

For the record. Ace did want MD. Turgeon wanted a big pg. Assistants at MD loved Ace's game Turgeon wouldnt budge. Yes, MD does recruit at St. Francis both mens and women's sports. The one player on the mens team, has a twin .sister who is a flat out stud at LSU (she was at MD but transferred). This kid is getting better and is a likely pro.

As stated, Ace is in a precarious position. Not quite NBA ready, but the man not just at VCU but the enter A10. He could go for the short term money next year but he risks a lot if he goes up a notch and is just good versus the alpha level and status he has not only at VCU but the entire A10. Leaving would be a huge gamble given his success here.

Now if this were at the end of next year and he still wasnt NBA ready well that's a different proposition.

Lastly, VCU is likely a top 25 team next year if they can keep the core group in tact and add even a serviceable post defender. .

We are witnessing greatness, folks. Barely 36 hours into the offseason and Uncle Duncy is already in prime form. Is it possible that he can sustain this level of fervent, unhinged nuttiness until next season starts?
100 to 1 that he will.

I’m all for @duncanlamb and his deep dives as long as it’s not a new recruiting thread on the main forum 😂

I think ace will declare for the draft. Don't think he has much more to prove or accomplish in college that will help improve his draft position. Also, he has a history of injury. I could see ace moving on.

Ace may test the draft waters, but I don't see him leaving this year. At best he would be a late second rounder, and that's a stretch when you look at the list of point guards that will probably be available in the NBA draft. Ace did not even make the Bob Cousy watch list. He needs another year in college injury free to raise his stock.

Regarding transferring, his mom loves Coach Rhoades and Ace does too. Transferring to another school will not necessarily raise his stock, particularly if you look at what VCU possibly might have returning. The only way I see Ace transferring is if Coach Rhoades leaves, and I see that as a low probability unless the Penn State job becomes open - and then it's still a stretch.

Ace should test the waters. I’m with you in that I don’t think he would be drafted high but he would get the input from the experts of what he can do to improve his draft stock.

I don't think there's any chance he doesn't go through the early evaluation process. After that it depends on what sort of feedback he gets.
