Walk-ons fall into two categories: 1. those that rarely play, such as Henderson, Burston, etc., even though they might be regulars on a lower level ..... then (2) the Wes Carmacks and Jesse Pellot-Rosas, who emerged as front-line operators. Incidentally, Jesse's daughter, Jessika, is a standout junior hurdler for L.C. Bird High .... a possible Ram in the future.

For some reason, VCU walk-ons seem to draw more conversation among fans than any other walk-ons anywhere in college hoops ... for example, doubt the average GW/UR/GMU fan ever discusses walk-ons or has any idea who they are.

A lot of VCU people were overlooked and looked down on by others throughout there lives. Its a natural and authentic respect we have for them.

UNC often has 5 walk-ons that they play together at the end of blowouts and the group has been known as Blue Steel for many years. Those guys are typically on the JV team (UNC might be the only school in the country that still has a JV game) and they often play a full game against a traveling team right before the actual game.
